Essential oils recipes: Two of the most common ways that aromatherapists have traditionally supported people is with massage and compresses and these are treatments that we as mothers can utilise any where, any time.

Two of the most common ways that aromatherapists have traditionally supported people is with massage and compresses and these are treatments that we as mothers can utilise any where, any time.

Aromatherapeutic massage comes with some incredible health benefits and it relies on topical application of essential oil so if you want your kids to enjoy the benefits of essential oils as well, it’s important they’re diluted correctly.

The following roller recipes are for use with children aged 2-6 years and made up in a 10 mL roller bottle, in line with dilution ratios recommended by the Australian College of Aromatherapy.* Once you’ve placed the essential oils in the roller, simply top with a carrier oil of your choosing and you’re good to go. Label them well and keep them where you can easily reach for them in time of need.

It’s crucial to have these rollers made up and ready to go so that:
❤️ You know they’re diluted safely for use with kids
❤️ You’re not going to spill them or accidentally use too much
❤️ You have them available when you need them – there’s nothing worse than having to fumble about in the night for the right oil only to find you also need to go hunting for a carrier oil to dilute it!

*For kids 6-15, you can add an extra 3 drops of essential oil/s to these recipes.
*Babies 0-3 months dilution ratio is 1 drop per 20 mL of carrier oil and for 3-24 months it’s 1 drop per 10 mL, so you can’t really do any blends in a 10 mL roller for under 2s but you could use a larger roller
