"Commit to mastery and change your life."

“We have become a culture that has rewarded dabbling. Commit to mastery and change your life.” Tony Robbins

Whether we intend to or not, as small business owners we tend to “dabble”.

We either forget to outsource or we get too busy to or we can’t afford it or we tell ourselves that it won’t work and so we try to do everything ourselves. We readgreat business articles and come away with a bunch of “must dos” and then try to do them ourselves, only to fail miserably at all of them because no one thing has been sufficiently focussed on. Or because we’ve picked stuff that just wasn’t ourforte.
Just as we talk about narrowing down on our one ideal customer and keenly focussing on our niche market, so too we should be honing one specific action and mastering it.
This year, I want to focus on the mastery of just one specific action for my business. I’m not sure what it will be yet, but that’s something I am figuring out over the next few weeks as I plan for 2017.
Will youconsider doing the same? If dabbling hasn’t worked in the past, maybe it’s time to switch your game and work on mastery.
I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
What will you master this year? Will it be your blog or your newsletter? Will it be anew product range or will it be consistent calls to new clients? Will it be your customer service system or your website or your public speaking? Will itbe your team or a new offering? Will it be a totally new business model or will it be your branding? Will it be your mindset or your social media or your nurturing of existing customers?
What is the one thing that you will master this year in your business?
