When Laura Trotta from Sustainababy sent me her productivity tip for our blog series, I found myself nodding in affirmation. How many times do we fail to schedule in time for our big projects, and then wonder why we haven’t progressed on them? How often do we become bogged down in the day to day running of a business – the reactive work – that we forget about the creative work?
Laura’s Tip: “If it’s not scheduled it’s not as likely to happen. To meet your long term goals, ensure you put time aside each week to work on them. Even if just one hour, small progress is better than no progress at all.”
So this week, let’s dig up that long term goal we’ve had shuffled away under a pile of admin and start scheduling in time for it.
Even if you can only manage one hour a week. Even if it means getting up half an hour earlier. Even if it means outsourcing something else that YOU personally don’t actually have to do. Small steps are better than none.
What long-term project will you work on this week?
