I’ve been using Young Living products now for over 3 years, essential oils for well over a decade, and I have some hands-down, can’t-live-without favourites. If you’re stuck for what to add to your next wellness box, here are some ideas:
THIEVES HOUSEHOLD CLEANER

NINGXIA RED
The perfect alcohol or coffee replacement, NingXia Red is a liquid supplement that our whole family enjoys every day. You can drink it straight or mix it like cordial. As a liquid supplement, NingXia Red is absorbed quickly by our bodies as it’s already broken down and ready to do it’s thing. Made from the superfruit wolfberry (goji berries), it also includes blueberry, arona cherry, pomegranate and plum juices to supply your body with vital phytonutrients.
LIFE 9
Life 9 is the only probiotic product my husband and I use. It’s high-potency and combines calcium in the form of calcium carbonate with 17 billion live cultures from 9 benefical bacteria strains. Life 9 promotes healthy digestion, maintains immune system health, supports the natural detoxification processes of the gastrointestinal system and aids in the natural cleansing process of the gut. We take 1 capsule each night before bed.
SAVVY MINERALS
Over the past few years, I’ve switched all of my make-up to Savvy Minerals products. Savvy Minerals is Young Living’s range of clean beauty products. LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL
You can never go wrong with lavender. It’s a must-have for any home and the unsung hero of our first aid kit. Traditionally, it’s been used in aromatherapy to decrease the symptoms and duration of headaches, as an antiseptic for minor cuts and abrasions (excellent for soothing insect bites too), relieve mild joint aches and pains, reduce the symptoms of stress and mild anxiety, relax the nervous system before bed and relieve abdominal and muscle spasms. Seriously. You need lavender.
RC ESSENTIAL OIL
RC is an essential oil blend that we rely on heavily during the colder months. It’s a powerful combination of 3 types of eucalyptus – eucalyptus radiata, eucalyptus citriodora and eucalyptus globulus – plus black spruce, pine, lavender, cypress, Northern Lights Black Spruce, peppermint, marjoram and myrtle.
It is hands-down my go-to for chest/breathing support and to diffuse when there’s a stink you need to get rid of fast. My favourite way to use RC is to add 25 drops to a small jar and top with coconut oil for a no-tox chest rub (baby food jars are the perfect size). For more DIYs using this oil, CLICK HERE.
DIGIZE ESSENTIAL OIL
DiGize is our go-to oil for tummy upset, nausea and cramp relief. Add 1 drop DiGize in a carrier oil of your choice (coconut, olive, almond, etc) and rub on an upset belly with a heat pack over the top. Alternatively, inhaling directly from the bottle can aid in fast relief from nausea. Another must-have for your family’s first aid kit.
MINERAL ESSENCE
Mineral Essence is a natural liquid mineral complex, containing full-spectrum ionic minerals that are the most efficiently absorbed form of minerals available and if you know you need to up your mineral intake, this one is for you. Warning: it does NOT (in my opinion) taste great, so I add it to my daily NingXia or pop in a veggie capsule. Either way, I take this daily.
TOOTHPASTE
Young Living has 5 different types of toothpaste, including a children’s version – all of them fluoride free. Our family loves the AromaBright, but just grab one and give it a go. You’ll soon work out your favourite.
THIEVES LAUNDRY SOAP
With a plant-based formula, Thieves Laundry Soap gently and naturally washes your clothes, cleaning them without any chemical or synthetic residue. Natural enzymes and powerful essential oils add to the formula’s strength to leave your clothes fresh and clean with a light citrus scent. Thieves Laundry Soap can be used in all washers, including high-efficiency, and its highly concentrated formula (6X) will provide around 64 loads (HERE is how I triple this beauty to get 3 months worth of laundry detergent for our family).
