3 Ingredient DIY Low Tox Glow Serum

Want to make your own facial glow serum?

In a 30 mL dropper bottle, add 20 drops blue tansy essential oil, 20 drops frankincense essential oil and top with jojoba carrier oil.

💧Why blue tansy?
It’s two key constituents – sabinene and camphor – have anti-inflammatory and healing properties and are the reason why these constituents are often used in acne and anti-ageing treatments. (See: PubMed 5402865 and 23488631 as well as https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/ptr.5484)

💧Why frankincense?
Frankincense has been found to have analgesic, tranquilising, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effects. (See: PubMedCentral 27117114)

A key constituent of frankincense is alpha-pinene, which has been found to provide protection against UVA-induced oxidative stress and inflammation in human skin cells. (See: PubMed 30292828)

In addition to its skin health benefits, frankincense has also been shown to be beneficial for memory and mood.

💧Why jojoba?
Jojoba oil closely mimics the wax that human skin produces and can help to keep the skin smooth and supple. It is absorbed rapidly and penetrates deeply into the skin, making it ideal for facial moisturisers. It’s high in Vitamins A, D and E as well as Omega 3.
